Dr. Anthony Fauci is one of the most celebrated and trusted doctors, both in the United States and around the world. He has delivered a series of global lectures and is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the National Medal of Science. Appointed Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease in 1984, he has advised six Presidents on HIV/AIDS, as well as many other domestic and global health issues, and frequently testifies before Congress. Dr. Fauci's research is heavily cited, and he is one of the principal architects of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), a program that has saved millions of lives throughout the developing world.
